This is a list of Publications available for sale by the Topeka Genealogical Society. The destination-based Kansas tax law is complicated – please read the following instructions carefully in order to avoid shipping delays due to payment calculation errors. Tax-exempt libraries and out-of-state residents desiring to purchase items on the list must remit the amount shown under the PRICE heading. Kansas residents desiring shipment of items must remit the amount shown under PRICE, plus the Kansas sales tax in effect at the point of desired delivery. For example: A patron in Mulvane, Ks must remit $29.97 for Kansas Pioneers while a patron in Paola must remit $30.61 for the same item. Please contact your nearest County Tax Office if you need to determine your local tax rate. The KS Dept of Revenue cites KSA 79-3602 (g) & (h) as authority to collect sales tax on “gross receipts” which includes base price and shipping.
