Research will be conducted by experienced volunteer members of TGS, using resources of the TGS Library, the Kansas State Historical Society Research Center, and other local repositories.   Research fees are $15.00 per hour, plus 50 cents per page for copies.

A minimum fee of $15.00 is required in advance, payable to TGS at the mailing address (PO Box 4048, Topeka, KS 66604-0048), to begin any type of research.  Please include your full name and complete return mailing address.  Advise us what you expect us to search, or to find and give a brief description of what information you have found that may help lead us to further results.

The basic fee includes one hour of work on your behalf; if you are willing to authorize in advance more than one hour of research time, please express how much you wish to authorize to continue the search. We currently cannot accept research requests by E-Mail because we do not have the ability to accept credit card payments.

 

To make sure that you get the maximum benefit from your research fees, it will help our researcher if you will address the following questions in your request:

• Who is the individual of interest (Full name), and what do you already know about him/her? 
• What additional information are you seeking?
• What sources have you already checked?

 

You will receive a summary of records that have been searched, as well as copies of any relevant documents and findings.  The total research fee will be computed at $15.00 per hour, plus $ .50 per page for copies.   You will be billed for any research fees incurred in excess of the initial $15.00 deposit.

 

If information is not found:

A report will be sent outlining records that were searched, but the $15.00 research fee will not be returned.
